Esther: The Overview (watch now)

Reader,

We start today!

The book of Esther tells the story of God's providence at work behind the scenes. Unlike many books of the Bible, God's name is never mentioned directly, yet His hand is evident throughout every chapter as He preserves His people and accomplishes His purposes through ordinary individuals placed in extraordinary circumstances.

Today's video goes live at 7:00 a.m. ET and provides an overview of Esther's story, historical setting, and the key themes we'll explore throughout this study.

If you'd like to go deeper throughout the series, the Preserved for Purpose: A 10-Day Study Through the Book of Esther companion guide is available to walk alongside the teachings. Inside, you'll find guided reflections, study prompts, and Scripture-focused questions designed to help you engage more deeply with Esther's story and God's providence throughout the book.

And if you're going deeper through Journal the Journey, today's passage is a good place to start writing, not just studying, but letting it settle into you one line at a time.

Hey Reader, Last week, we began a three-part conversation I'm calling, The Return. Rather than allowing guilt or shame to keep us focused on the distance, I encouraged us to focus on the return because the distance may have happened, but the return is what matters most. This week, I want to share one of the ways I intentionally return when I recognize that distance...
