Hey Reader, October has been FULL! From speaking with friends at the YouVersion Summit to celebrating our anniversary, homecoming send-offs, senior pictures, and now a birthday celebration to close out the month! And as I’ve looked around in the midst of it all, one thing has become increasingly clear to me. God’s love has been evident and constant. This week, I’ve found myself reflecting on His faithfulness throughout this past season and I’m reminded of Psalm 100:5:
“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (NIV)
There’s something about that last part that feels especially meaningful to me as I celebrate this birthday. His faithfulness continues through all generations. God’s faithfulness doesn’t begin or end with us. The same God x who has carried us through seasons of uncertainty is the God who will remain faithful to the generations coming after us. And today is a beautiful reminder of that truth. Why? Because today, my youngest daughter released her first EP titled, Someone Who Loves, and I couldn’t be more grateful to witness this moment. This song was written by her from the perspective of Jesus, expressing His consistent love for us. As a mother, there is something unexplainable about watching your children discover and use the gifts God has placed within them. And as someone who has spent years teaching and sharing God’s Word, getting to witness my daughter communicate His love through music is a beautiful moment of legacy for me. It’s one of those moments when you look around and realize that God has been doing more than you could have imagined. So, I have a little birthday request. Would you help me celebrate by listening to and sharing my daughter’s new music this weekend?
Reader, as I step into another year of life, I’m grateful for what God has done, expectant about what He’s already placed on my heart for this next season, and reminded that His faithfulness reaches far beyond what I can see today. And I want to encourage you to take a moment this weekend to reflect on that same truth. Perhaps this past year looked nothing like you expected. Maybe there were prayers answered differently than you imagined or circumstances you still don’t fully understand. But as you spend time in the Word, ask the Lord to help you recognize the ways He has remained faithful. Read Psalm 100 slowly. Let its words remind you of God’s goodness, His enduring mercy, and the faithfulness that continues from one generation to the next. Because even when our seasons change, the character of God does not. And remember, time with God is time you will never regret spending.
